A product of the club’s academy system, lock Grant Gilchrist joined Edinburgh ahead of the 2010/11 season after impressing as part of the Scotland age-grade set-up.
He made 23 appearances in his debut season and the 2013/14 PRO12 fixture against the Dragons marked his milestone 50th cap for the club.
Gilchrist made his international debut for Scotland against France in the final game of the 2013 RBS 6 Nations Championship and has captained the national team on several occasions.
The MacPhail scholar signed a two-year contract extension ahead of the 2017/18 season, while Gregor Townsend named Gilchrist as Scotland captain for 2018 Summer Tour opener against Canada.
After impressing in both the Guinness PRO14 and Heineken Champions Cup, Gilchrist signed a three-year contract extension which will see him remain in the capital until at least 2022.
